Seven fined for gambling

Paphos police fined seven people for gambling during lockdown late on Sunday.

The arrests resulted from a house search by officers who had obtained a search warrant.

Six people were playing dice, while another whose house it was was also fined for breaking coronavirus protocols. Of them, three people had also other unpaid fines, police said.

Sunday was the last day before the two-week lockdown was lifted and the implementation of new restrictions in Cyprus.

Police confiscated 107 cards, 39 chips and €550 in cash.
