Ten migrants who were attempting to make their way into the Republic from the north were arrested by Turkish Cypriot authorities on Wednesday.

The migrants arrived by boat after they sailed from the Turkish port city of Mersin.

According to Turkish Cypriot media, authorities spotted one of the migrants trying to illegally cross to the Republic. After he was stopped and interrogated, he gave away the other migrants.

Last Sunday, in a similar incident, 13 Syrian migrants were found inside a truck from Turkey that had docked at Famagusta port in the north.
