Defence minister impressed with standard of military exercise

army exercise 2

Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides congratulated everyone involved in the military exercise that took place on Thursday morning.

The exercise, called ‘Nikitis-Dimitra 2021’ saw the participation of National Guard conscripts and reservists, and took place in the area of Kotsiatis. It began on June 3 and will end on Friday.

During the exercise, the soldiers’ decision-making attitudes were thoroughly tested, as they had to respond to emergencies under pressure in scenarios that simulated real-life situations.

“I would like to congratulate all those who participated in any way in the exercise, and I want to assure you that I feel particularly proud of the zeal you have shown,” Petrides said in a statement.

“Exercises such as these prove the worthiness and demonstrate the level of training and the high morale of the force.”
