TGIF: honey apple margaritas

Here at Good Living, we like to mark the end of the working week with a TGIF recipe… A little note of indulgence with which to treat yourself over the weekend, hopefully catching your breath as you cook, bake or mix something that’s a tiny celebration.

In this video, Food52 bar director Natasha David demos a refreshing cocktail that goes down perfectly on a warm-weather weekend evening: a zinging honey apple margarita.

Traditionally, a margarita is a cocktail consisting of tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice, often served with salt on the rim of the glass. The drink is served shaken with ice, blended with ice, or without ice.

Here, the honey balances out the tartness of juiced granny smiths, while lemon takes the place of the more traditional limes. Bringing all the flavours together is a celery-salt rim, and a fan made of wafer-thin apple slices.
