No deaths were recorded from coronavirus on Sunday, as 216 new cases were seen, with a positivity rate of 0.56 per cent.

Meanwhile, 50 people were being treated in hospital, 18 of whom were in a serious condition.

Of the 18, eight are intubated, two are in intensive care and eight are in a high dependency unit.

A total of 38,787 tests were carried out. Of these 5,276 were PCR tests and the remaining 38,787 rapid tests.

Five of the new cases were found among 32 tests carried out among contacts of known cases, while a further five were found among 3,890 tests taken at Larnaca and Paphos airports.

Among 1,036 taken on private initiative 26 cases were found as were three among 58 at labs in state hospitals.

Four positives were found among 141 rapid tests taken at private labs and pharmacies.

The majority of new cases – 173 – were found among 33,370 tests carried out at health ministry testing sites.

In Nicosia 13,042 tests were carried out, among which 62 cases were found (a 0.48 per cent positivity rate), in Limassol 8,232 tests found 131 positives (0.38), in Larnaca a total of 4,276 tests were carried out and 32 cases found (0.75 per cent), while in Paphos 3,499 tests found two cases (0.06 per cent) and in Famagusta 3,006 tests found 45 positives (1.53 per cent).

The total number of cases so far since the start of the pandemic has reached 74,785, while 378 people have died.
