TUI cancels flights to Cyprus, other destinations to July 4

TUI has cancelled flights to a slew of destinations, including Cyprus, to July 4, the company said in a statement released on Tuesday.

Other destinations are  cancelled until July 11. Cancellation periods may be extended, according to the statement.

Until July 4: Aruba, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece (Crete, Kavala, Kefalonia Mykonos, Preveza, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Thessaloniki), Italy, Jamaica, Malta, Spain (Mainland Spain, Formentera, Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, La Palma, All Tui)

Until July 11: Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Mexico, Morocco, Tunisia, and Turkey.

All TUI holidays to Florida will also be cancelled until June 30.

The company also cancelled all holidays that include non-TUI flights to Indonesia, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates,

Also to be cancelled are holidays, including flight-only and accommodation-only bookings, to all destinationsdue to depart from Scotland on or before 30 June 2021.

And TUI  has also cancelled bookings using third-party airlines until after 21 July, covering destinations in North America, Asia and the Indian Ocean.

The next update from TUI regarding their holiday programme and cancellations is expected to be updated on June 24.

The decision to cancel was reportedly made due to the extension of lockdown restrictions, as announced by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week.

“All customers impacted by these cancellations will be contacted directly and will be able to request a full cash refund, or to change to a later date or alternative holiday and receive a booking incentive,” Tui said in a statement on Tuesday.

“If we need to cancel any future holidays because of updated government guidance, or as a result of reviewing our holiday programmes, we will be in touch directly and aim to give customers at least seven days’ notice,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the company will continue to operate to safe destinations as planned and are working on a solution that provides customers with flexible offers and choices for this summer.
