Coronavirus: 35 fines after 2,392 checks

Police fined 35 people, including a business owner after 2,392 checks for coronavirus measures violations between 6am on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.

The majority of checks were carried out in Nicosia, where 19 people received a fine, while in Limassol six people, including a business owner, were fined for breaching Covid protocols. In Paphos five people were booked from 344 checks, while another five were booked in Famagusta after 419 checks.

No violations were reported in Larnaca or Morphou after 349 and 85 checks respectively.

Traffic and marine police also conducted 280 and 33 checks each without any bookings.

Violations in coronavirus protocols include failure to wear a face mask or carrying a SafePass in certain venues.
