Coronavirus: Woman who broke quarantine nabbed on Ledra Street

Police on Saturday confirmed that officers were called in after complaints that a woman who had tested positive for coronavirus was out and about in violation of quarantine.

The incident occurred on Ledra Street in Nicosia at around 8am.

The woman, who was intoxicated, was reportedly disturbing the peace.

Police said she was taken to the Nicosia general hospital’s accident and emergency department. The woman was also fined for violating the law on infectious diseases, police said.
