Paphos police are investigating a case involving the alleged abduction of a female domestic earlier this week.

The Nepali woman said she was walking in a specific area in Paphos when a car with four passengers and without licence plates approached her.

She told the police she was forced into the vehicle and taken to an unknown location where the suspects threatened her with a knife and stole her mobile phone and some cash. Then, one of them, a man, hit her and she was left somewhere near a road.

The four were talking in a language widely spoken in India, but the woman said she did not recognise them.

Police said the woman suffered minor injuries.
