The last of July’s live music at Kafeneio to Leoforio

If you live in Nicosia, it is likely you’ve passed by Kafeneio to Leoforio even if you didn’t know it. Located in the old town opposite the old municipal market, the café-bar has been luring in guests and entertaining faithful visitors with back to back live music performances, giving musicians and music lovers those summer nights they dearly missed. July’s final week is packed with yet another series of gigs at the Kafeneio and if you want to go, reserving a table is advisable as shows are often fully booked.

On Wednesday Panagiotis Loizou will return to the Kafeneio To Leoforio stage with Panagiotis Tsappis to perform songs by other famous Greek singers such as Charoulis, Malama and Paschalides.

The Greek music vibe will continue on Thursday as well as the band EnArE will arrive with its bouzouki, baglama and guitar to sing more rembetiko music. On Friday, a popular duo will return to the café-bar to perform an acoustic set. Avgi Stavrou and Memnon Arestis will be at To Leoforio for a gig starting at 8.30pm.

The month will close off with a jazz duet on the final day of July as Gianna Koutsou and Loukas Louka present an evening of jazz standards on July 31. Though it’s the final performance of this month, the café-bar has been hosting non-stop live music performances since the beginning of the summer and we expect plenty more for August and September!
