Police investigate after two men assaulted

Police in the Famagusta district are investigating a case of assault after a complaint was filed  by two men aged 28 and 25 in the early hours of Sunday.

The 28-year-old told the investigators that shortly after 5.00 am on Sunday a group of people had assaulted him and the 25-year-old outside a shop in the Ayia Napa area.

The two went to Famagusta general hospital where it was found that the 28-year-old had injuries to the chest and head, and abrasions and bruises on the body. The 25-year-old had a fracture on the face and nose, and bruises on the body. The 28-year-old was discharged, while the 25-year-old was admitted for treatment.

CID Famagusta is investigating a case of assault and causing serious bodily harm.
