Coronavirus: Police issue 34 fines for health and safety violations

Police said Tuesday they had issued fines to 32 individuals and two establishments in the past 24 hours for various violations of Covid health and safety measures.

The force said it carried out 3,151 checks across the Republic between 6am Monday and 6am Tuesday.

Officers reported four people and an establishment after 1,012 checks in Nicosia while a lower number of checks in Limassol – 318 – yielded more offenders, 14 individuals and one business owner.

In Larnaca, officers carried out 473 checks and issued four fines, 241 in Paphos where five individuals were reported, 661 in Famagusta with 5 bookings, and 178 in the Morphou area without any reports.
