Paphos police on Thursday were investigating after burglars stole €5,000 from a home in Peyia.

The incident was reported to the police by the 58-year-old owner of the house, who said unknown culprits entered his home while he was out and stole €5,000 in cash.

Police officers arrived at the scene and concluded the thieves entered the house through a bedroom window which was closed but not locked.

The house was equipped with CCTV cameras but the burglars took the material that showed them entering the house, police said.
