Elena Tsigaridou’s Odyssey through art

A new art exhibition at Alpha CK Gallery by Elena Tsigaridou will take viewers on a journey full of symbolism in Her Odyssey.

Through allegories and parallels, the artist recreates her own journey. The stations along it are her testimony, a psychograph through which the viewer alternates roles and from observer becomes the protagonist. The pluralism of the journey is elaborately rendered through the deliberate alteration of the colour palette, the frame but also the style of the works. This is a common trait of Elena’s work, using symbolism to provoke and question.

Her work is characterised by delicate observation that seeks to elicit the sensations and memories associated with experiences and encounters. She filters her experiences into a personal and contemporary visual language. These finely rendered images provoke viewers to look beneath the surface into the realm of strange alliances, symbolism and meanings as her work evokes the private world of personal identity and inner state.

This upcoming exhibition isn’t the artist’s only solo showcase that has taken place this year. Earlier in 2021, she presented her exhibition titled Dive at Almyra Hotel which was well-received by art critics and art enthusiasts.
