Coronavirus: Day off work for people getting booster shot

Υπουργός Υγείας – Επίσκεψη σε Κέντ

Cabinet has approved a request by the health ministry to grant people getting their booster shot a day off work, it was announced on Wednesday.

This concerns members of the public working in the public and private sectors due to receive their third dose of the vaccine.

They will be able to take the whole day off work, without that day counting towards their yearly leave quota.

They will need to show their employer their vaccination card for confirmation.

It was also reminded that employees still have the right to take a day off to receive their first and second doses, if they have not already taken them.

A similar arrangement counts for parents accompanying their underage children to their vaccination appointment, as long as they can justify it by showing their employer a copy of their child’s vaccination card.
