Both established and young choreographers will present their works at the upcoming Cyprus Choreography Platform in December at Rialto Theatre as the 21st edition of the festival once again highlights and celebrates contemporary dance by Cyprus-based artists.

With its 20 previous editions, the platform has contributed significantly to the development and promotion of contemporary dance in the country. Having been renewed as an institution in recent years – with the diversification of the categories of participants, the inclusion of mentoring in the preparation process and the introduction of the Newcomer Choreographer Award – the Choreography Platform continues to support Cypriot artists and to present new works of contemporary choreography to the public.

The 11 choreographers, selected by the Selection Committee and the two awarded choreographers in 2019 and 2020, are preparing, together with their collaborators, to present their new works.

The core programme of performances is supplemented and enriched by parallel events organised by Dance House Lemesos under the title Dance Throughout the Year. The first evening of the platform will feature four performances, the second evening five performances and the third and final evening will conclude with another four dance productions turning the second weekend of December into a celebration of dance!
