Coronavirus: Two Paphos business booked for violating measures

Two Paphos business owners and ten individuals were booked for violating coronavirus measures after 2,096 checks in the government-controlled areas in the last 24 hours, police said early on Thursday.

The establishments were booked for €500 each, after the manager was found working without a SafePass in the first business, while in the other case an employee was serving customers without a face mask.

In Nicosia, officers carried out 580 checks and booked two people, while three people were booked in Larnaca after 557 police checks. One person was also fined in Limassol following 190 inspections, and three in Famagusta after 335 checks.

One person was also booked in Paphos after 335 checks while no violations were reported in Morphou after 153 checks.

Traffic, marine and port police also carried out 112 and four checks respectively without issuing any fines.

The checks were conducted from 6am on Wednesday to 6am on Thursday.
