The A Technical School in Limassol was to remain closed on Monday as a precautionary measure after the first three cases of Omicron reported in Cyprus on Friday were among students at the school who have participated in a school trip in Glasgow.

During contact tracing of the cluster at the technical school, an additional two Omicron cases were detected the next day.

As of Monday, all contacts of the children and teachers who were infected have been placed in isolation, according to the school’s director Elias Markatzis.

He also added that on Tuesday, when pupils are scheduled to return to their classes, a mobile testing unit will be operative on the premises.
