Coronavirus: Seven businesses, 16 individuals fined for breaking measures

Seven businesses and 16 individuals were fined for violating coronavirus measures after 3,046 checks in the government-controlled areas, police said on Monday.

About half of the checks, 1,536, were carried out in the capital where five people and one establishment were booked, while after just 207 checks in Limassol, three people and four businesses were fined.

Larnaca officers carried out 555 checks and booked three people and one establishment while one individual and one business were booked in Paphos after 138 checks, and in Famagusta three people following 369 checks.

No violations were reported in Morphou after 88 checks.

Traffic and marine police also carried out 123 and 30 checks respectively without any bookings.

The checks were part of daily police checks for the implementation of Covid measures and were carried out between 6am on Sunday and 6am on Monday.
