Rain fell in various areas on Tuesday with the heaviest seen in Limassol, where roads and fields were flooded.

Earlier, police had warned of hail and fog in the Episkopi area, which limited visibility on the motorway.

Roads were flooded at the centre of Limassol and elsewhere while a resident of Pareklishia posted a video of a field saturated with water.

There were no immediate reports of problems warranting the intervention of the fire service.

The Met service said isolated showers were expected to continue throughout the day and into the evening. Storms could hit coastal areas while there was a possibility of snow or slush in the higher regions.

Temperatures will drop to 9C inland and 13C on the coast. In the higher areas the temperature was expected to drop to 4C with a chance of frost.
