A 59-year-old man was fined €2,000 after dozens of duty-free tobacco products were found in his car late on Tuesday.

The illegal products were discovered by Limassol officers who stopped the car of the man for a check around 10.30pm.

They found 37 packages that each contained ten cigarette packs, three packages each containing five packs of tobacco and another six packs of cigarettes and two packs of tobacco.

Police said the products did not carry the necessary signage.
