Two more arrests in Chlorakas

Police said on Tuesday that they had  carried out another operation in the Chlorakas community on Monday, arresting two more people, after arresting three on Sunday.

According to Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou, during the operation an apartment complex in Chlorakas was searched while traffic checks were also carried out.

The three people arrested were found to be in violation of the interior ministry’s decree forbidding asylum seekers from taking up residence in the community. They were charged and released to be summoned at a later date.

Moreover, a total of 60 vehicles were checked during the operation, with 12 traffic fines also being issued.
