Public offered chance to have their say on future of old Nicosia

The Nicosia municipality on Friday released an online survey offering people the chance to have their say on the future of old Nicosia.

The survey is a brainchild of the Nicosia municipality, the Cyprus Energy Agency and the HUB-IN project, funded by the Horizon 2020 European Programme.

The HUB-IN project aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in several cities’ centres while preserving the unique identity of the historic sites and their natural, cultural and social values.

Other cities adopting the same strategy as Cyprus’ capital under the project’s umbrella are Angouleme, Genoa, Nicosia, Lisbon, Belfast, Brasov, Utrecht and Slovenska Bistrica.

The survey’s answers, which will remain anonymous, will be collected and used for the creation of a roadmap that will include actions for the revitalisation of the historical centra area and its promotion as a centre of entrepreneurship and innovation.
