Days old baby flown to Israel for medical treatment

A 10-day-old baby has been flown to Israel for emergency treatment after showing serious heart issues, local media reported on Wednesday.

The little girl from Paphos was born with heart defects and was being treated at Makarios children’s hospital in Nicosia.

But due to the seriousness of her condition, and through the intervention of health ministry permanent secretary Christina Yiannaki, she was flown by air ambulance on Easter Sunday to a specialist hospital in Israel to receive further treatment.
