Police on Wednesday said a 19-year-old Paphos resident is in critical condition after getting injured in a traffic collision the previous night.

He is being treated in the ICU at Nicosia general hospital.

The accident took place a little after 10pm on Tuesday night, on the road to Stroumbi.

Under conditions still being investigated, he lost control of his vehicle, which went off course, hitting the fence of a petrol station.

He was taken by ambulance to Paphos hospital A&E but due to the seriousness of his condition he was then transferred to Nicosia to be treated in the ICU.

His condition is considered critical.
