In today’s episode, the one-year jail sentence imposed on Turkish Cypriot newspaper publisher Sener Levent by a court in Turkey for offending Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has been commuted to a fine of 9,000 Turkish lira, which is the equivalent of 570 euro. In other news, plans to keep state hospitals open in the afternoons suffered a setback after nursing unions turned down the additional pay offered by state health services, and some 8,200 people received the fourth Covid vaccine, with more than 900 vaccinations carried out after its rollout for people over 60 on Tuesday.
