Police on Thursday arrested a 46-year-old woman suspected of the theft of copper piping and a power cable from a construction site in Ayia Fyla, Limassol.

The case had been reported to authorities earlier in the week by the contractor of the site. He told police that on Tuesday copper tubes and a power cable feeding air conditioning units were stolen from a high-rise building under construction.

Police were led to the 46-year-old woman after going through footage recorded on surveillance cameras at the site.

The stolen copper tubes and power cable are worth an estimated €4,224 – while the damage caused by the removal of the items is estimated at €17,500.
