Police on Thursday placed under arrest a 30-year-old man in connection with the firing of a shot in the centre of Paphos.

The suspect, escorted by an attorney, reportedly turned himself in to Paphos CID.

Around 2am on Thursday police had received a tip about a gunshot.

On arriving at the scene, officers found a discarded pistol in a flowerbed. Nearby, police also discovered a bullet casing.

Investigations are ongoing.
