Nicosia district court remanded a 36-year-old man for six days on Saturday on suspicion of stealing sacred vessels from a chapel in a school yard.

The theft was reported to the police on Tuesday, suggesting the chapel was broken into between April 15 and May 3, and all the sacred vessels were stolen.

The chapel is located within the yard of a school in Nicosia, police told the Cyprus News Agency.

Investigations revealed evidence against the 36-year-old suspect, who was found and arrested around 9pm on Friday.
