Parts of the island were hit by isolated thunderstorms with heavy showers and moderate to strong winds on Sunday afternoon after a morning of clear skies and warm weather.
The rainy weather was expected to continue into the evening and night inland and towards the north east.
Temperatures dropped to 14C inland, 16C along the coast and 9C in the mountains.
On Monday the weather will be mostly clear but it will be windy in coastal areas.
The temperature will rise to around 30C inland, around 29C on the south and east coasts, and 26C to the west and north. In the mountains, the temperature will be 19C.
Tuesday is expected to be cloudy with some isolated showers inland and on the mountains with temperatures rising a little to the seasonal average.
The weather is expected to continue in this vein for the rest of the week.
