Man jailed for drink driving

A 54-year-old man, a permanent resident of Paphos, has been jailed for one month for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic accident.

A Paphos police spokesman told the Cyprus News Agency the offence was committed in December 2019. The defendant underwent an alcotest after causing an accident and was found to be more than four times over the limit – 96μg rather than the limit of 22μg.

Paphos district court also suspended the man’s driving licence for four months.
