The temperatures are high, the sun’s in the sky and summer is here to stay. What better way to enjoy it than at the beach? Beyond simply sunbathing, there is a whole underwater world waiting to be explored. The animal charity PAWS – Protecting Animals Without Shelter – is organising an event this month inviting all to dive for a good cause.
Diving sessions will take place on June 12, spread throughout the morning to welcome all levels of divers – beginners and experienced. The five diving activities planned aim to raise funds for the vet expenses for all animals under the care of PAWS. “Join us for a fun-filled day at Happy Divers Diving Centre in Protaras, located at Mimosa Beach Hotel,” says the charity.
Those new to scuba diving, and uncertified divers can join the Intro Dive sessions which cost €45, including all dive gear and equipment, briefing and an introductory dive at Mimosa beach with a scuba instructor. Three introductory dives will take place, first at 9am, then 11am and 1pm.
Certified divers who have an Open Water certification, equivalent or higher, upon presentation of their card can join the Dive Trip. This costs €30 and includes a dive gear and equipment or €20 without equipment. The first Dive Trip session will take at 11am and will explore the Cyclops Cave at Cape Greco. The 1pm dive will explore Green Bay at Protaras. Just a few places are available for each diving trip so those who do not want to miss out, and offer the charity a helping hand, should reserve a spot soon.
