Members of the Paphos Bar Association have submitted their resignation to the branch’s president in protest over the many disagreements they have had with him in recent months.
In the letter of resignation, co-signed by all members, they explained that the main reason behind their decision is that the association’s president would not listen to the board’s guidelines on how to run the branch, especially in regard to a deal made with a private company.
“About a year ago, the president of the Paphos Bar Association struck a deal with a company without the approval of the board, creating a situation of conflict of interest,” the resignation letter said according to the Cyprus News Agency.
The letter also explained that the association’s members requested a meeting with the president on the issue, but he refused to engage with them and denied it.
