The English School staff union (ESSA) staged an impromptu work stoppage on Thursday morning to protest the management of the school.

The union said it proceeded with the demonstration because senior management has taken unilateral action, without adhering to the mediation efforts carried out by the labour ministry.

Participants of the demonstration, which lasted from 8am until 9:30am, held signs and placards as they walked from the school’s entrance to the roundabout across the presidential palace.

It specifically claimed that the administration is not respecting the ministry’s procedures and proceeded to act against three of the union’s members.
