Tourists lost in Akamas found after two-hour search

A couple, Russian tourists, who became lost in the Akamas late Saturday were found in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

According to CNA, at around 11pm on Saturday night, police at Polis Chrysochous station were informed that the couple had gone in their rental car to the area of Aphrodite’s Baths and had left the vehicle to go on a hike in the area.

At some point lost their bearings and reported themselves lost.

Police, together with a volunteer search party, went to where the car was parked and began searching the vicinity.

Around two and a half hours later, they found the couple uninjured in an inaccessible area in a ravine.

They were taken back to their vehicle, police said.
