The weather on Friday is set to be mostly fine, but extremely warm with temperatures above normal for the season. The met office has issued a yellow alert for 12 noon to 4.00 pm, warning that temperatures inland will rise to 40C.

Because of humidity, the discomfort is expected to be slightly increased.

The temperature is set to reach approximately 40C inland, 36C on the southeastern and eastern coasts, 31C on the west coast, 34C on the remaining coasts and at around 32C in the mountains, according to the met office.

Overnight, the weather will be mostly clear but thin fog and low clouds may form locally.

The temperature will drop to around 21C inland, 22C on the coast and around 19C in the mountains.

The pattern is set to continue into the weekend and until Monday, with only a slight drop in temperature expected on Saturday. In the evening and early morning hours low clouds and thin fog are expected mainly on the coasts.
