The health ministry announced on Friday that three Covid deaths and 2,130 infections were recorded during the past week.

The three deaths – all men, aged 65, 68, and 92 – raise the total number of deaths with the final cause being Covid to 1,152, the ministry said.

It was further stated that 73 Covid patients are in Okypy (state health organisation) hospitals, 15 of whom are in serious condition; seven of whom are intubated and another eight in the high dependency ward.

The 2,130 infections raise the total recorded positives to 574,124. They were identified through 47,532 tests, with a positivity rate of 4.48 per cent.

The ministry’s announcement came as the health minister meets with the government’s Covid advisory team ahead of the soon to be released roadmap for autumn.
