An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being one of the suspects in an armed robbery that took place in June in Paphos, police said on Friday.

The burglary was committed at a house in a village in the district at around 3am on June 12 this year, Paphos CID chief and police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou told the Cyprus News Agency.

He said two unknown persons who had their faces covered entered through an open window into the bedroom and stole €9,300 in cash, several watches and other items.

One of them was holding a pistol, noted the senior officer.

During investigations, Nicolaou said evidence emerged against the 18-year-old who was arrested at 5.30pm on Thursday.
