Arrest after 16kg of cannabis found

Limassol drug squad found around 16 kilos of cannabis in the Limassol house of a 41-year-old man late on Friday.

The search was carried out on Friday afternoon at the request of the British bases police who had arrested the 41-year-old.

Drug squad officers searched the suspect’s house in Polemidia where they found two suitcases, one containing 11 kilos and 390 grammes of cannabis and the other four kilos and 560 grammes of cannabis.

A second person is wanted in the case.

Later that day, officers found 383 grammes of cannabis in an open area in Trachoni, which may be related.
