Cycle police in Paphos issued 96 tickets last month for various offences, authorities said on Saturday.

According to police, in November the cycle squad issued 96 tickets, helped 18 members of the public, were on security duty for eight events, and helped in 16 other cases for Paphos traffic police.

The unit also stopped 17 suspicious vehicles and individuals and ran checks on parking areas to stop perpetrators from breaking into vehicles.

The cycle police also offered advice to shop owners on security measures, and they advised locals and tourists as needed.

The unit inspected the areas of Yeroskipou and Chlorakas as well and was involved in transferring people in custody, football match policing and beach inspection.
