Rain and isolated storms are expected between Monday and Wednesday with temperatures dropping noticeably, the met office said on Sunday.

Sunday itself is expected to be mainly sunny and warm with temperatures of 21C inland and along the coast, and 13C in the mountains.

From midnight however, there will be isolated showers and thunderstorms initially in the west and later other areas.

Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast. Temperatures will drop to 10C inland, around 14C on the coast and 7C in the higher mountains.

On Monday the weather will be mostly cloudy and isolated rains are expected.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, storms are expected. Wednesday especially could see the worst of it.

Temperatures will fluctuate but remain slightly above seasonal averages through most of the week but then gradually drop.
