Pre-Christmas rock gigs at Savino Live

If it is rock and its sister genres you are craving, Savino Live in old-town Larnaca has weekly live music shows. In December it is celebrating the festive season with several performances from local bands but also a very well-known band from Greece.

Kicking off this weekend is a live show from Abettor who on Friday will present their new song Back and Forth which will be featured on their upcoming EP Swept in Amnesia, to be released in January 2023. The five-piece band is devoted to writing original compositions, spanning from churning rock riffs and melodic hooks to more elaborate rhythmic patterns and ambient sounds.

Abettor share the vision of combining older, traditional rock sounds with more progressive and modern elements, fusing heavy music with other non-stereotypical music genres such as Progressive, Grunge, Stoner and Trip Hop. “Getting into the festive spirit with some musical frolicking,” say the event organisers, “is the perfect way to welcome winter.”

Then on December 20, Greek rock band Mble will head to Savino for an unplugged performance to perform their classic hits and beloved covers. Their gig will also feature Cypriot popular band Prospectus who will bring their signature sound. Later that week bands Zivanished and Dragonbreath will join forces for the first time on December 23 for a night full of headbanging and chaos. Special guests and amplified sounds will decorate the night, heading into the Christmas holidays in a heavy rock mood.
