Open mic night on Old Endings and Queer New Beginnings

One more Open Mic Night is taking place at Yfantourgeio theWorkplace just before the year ends. On December 27, the Third Open Mic event organised by Queer Collective CY will welcome poets, artists and performers of all kinds. The theme of the night is Old Endings & Queer New Beginnings and participants have no restrictions on what their performance can be or in which language, as long as they stick to the theme and perform for a maximum of four minutes.

One thing that is important to the Queer Collective CY though is that no offensive or racist language is used. “Since we’re striving to create safer spaces for the community,” they say, “hate speech and discriminatory language will not be tolerated.”

The Open Mic Night will operate on a first-come, first-served basis meaning that whoever signs up first will kick off the evening. Those that want to perform more than once can let the organisers know and should there be enough time, the floor will open up again. Performers can either pre-register using the link on the Facebook event, or on the spot, right before, from 7pm to 7.30pm, or even during the event.
