Entering January with live music

New week, new month, new year and new live music happenings! In just the first few days of 2023, several bars are bursting with bands and musicians before the Christmas holidays end.

On January 4, a jazzy swinging night will take over Larnaca’s Tudor Inn. The Christina Christofi Trio will perform jazz songs from the golden era of jazz with Dimitris Miaris on piano and Costas Challoumas on double bass.

Also happening on Wednesday is a funky music party at Limassol’s Mason Bar. The Mr Wilson band will present a catchy selection of 80s, 90s and the latest music hits with a reggae touch. The five-piece band will perform funky, groovy tunes turning Mason Bar into a mini fiesta.

On the following evening, Poe Bar will host its first live music session of the year with Nikolis Christodoulou performing Blues and Alternative music.

In Nicosia, Sarah’s Jazz Club will host its own music celebration by welcoming Pampina Kontea and Marios Toumbas on its stage on January 5. Pampina, singing with pianist Marios, will put on a gripping performance highlighting the quality, drama and poetry of classic Greek songs.

Lastly, local pop-rock band Minus One will play their first live of 2023 on January 7, rocking out at Ravens Music Hall. In a late-night show starting at 11pm, they will perform the biggest hits to get the crowd on their feet to dance the night away.
