Nicosia municipality’s first free nursery for infants has welcomed its first children as part of the Rainbow childcare and employment centre project.

The nursery operates until 8pm daily.

The specialised staff of the multipurpose centre welcomed the children in the specially designed, modern, and fully equipped area of the Georgia Polyvios building on Erakleous street.

Through the rich educational and interactive program that has been developed, the centre aims to develop infants’ special talents and abilities and to acquire a solid foundation and social skills.

The programme is aimed at vulnerable groups of the population, for children aged 2 to 5 years old. It is open Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3pm or 7am to 6pm, or 7am to 8pm.

Registrations are still open through the I care platform, the municipality said in its announcement. The municipality has advised interested parties to read the rules and regulations of the programme to apply.

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the EU and national funds.
