Academic appointed to head CyBC board

Academic Dr Giorgos Kentas has been appointed as president of the board of national broadcaster CyBC, the presidency announced on Tuesday.

Kentas is an Associate Professor of International Politics and Governance at the University of Nicosia (UNic), and Director of a Graduate Programme in Public Administration.

He has been teaching at various departments of the university since 2007.

Kentas is a member of the Nordic Association of International Studies, while he also worked as a scientific associate at EU-CONSENT and FORNET, two scientific networks funded by the European Commission.

He has also collaborated with the European Council on Foreign Relations on issues related to the participation of the Republic of Cyprus in the European Security and Defence Policy of the EU.

According to his UNic profile, he published in peer-reviewed journals, written and/or co-authored a number of books, and is currently working on a book on strategic management.
