The customs office on Thursday said it had intercepted two parcels with fake drivers licences and a fake passport.

After inspecting a parcel at Larnaca airport to be sent to Nigeria, it appeared to have hair extensions, clothes, dry food and eight drivers’ licenses, seven of which were issued in Poland and one in Czechia.

Another parcel written out to a Turkish address declared the item contained a book but instead had a notebook with Arabic written and within, an envelope with a Romanian passport and two Greek driver licenses.

The parcel was written out to a third country national.

Investigations are ongoing.
