Police raid improvised cannabis plant nursery in Famagusta

Famagusta police on Tuesday uncovered an improvised nursery in a house garage where cannabis plants were being grown.

According to police statement, at around 4.30pm the drug squad detected the illegal operation and arrested the two 58-year-old residents, a man and a woman.

During a sweep of the residence, police found a grinder with traces of cannabis, a precision scale and 700g of cannabis, which was seized. The equipment of the makeshift nursery was also confiscated.

The two suspects were taken into custody and are expected to be brought before the Famagusta district court later in the day.
