The role of AI in public schools

The role of artificial intelligence in public school education will be discussed in a coming workshop for teachers and headteachers to be held in Nicosia next month.

The Digital Education: Developments and Pedagogical Practices training workshop seeks to inform the educational community about developments and practices in digital education and the integration of new technologies in teaching and learning.

To this end, the workshop will present the example of Estonia as an educational system which has recorded significant progress in the field of digital education as well as developments and challenges of artificial intelligence in education.

Workshops on a series of topics will also be held and participants can choose which ones they want to attend. The subjects include film education, educational applications using a micro:bit computer, a framework for implementing active citizenship at school from the Social Radio 2.0 project, artificial intelligence and school education, augmented reality technologies in education and digital gaming, misinformation and cyberbullying.

The workshop is addressed to teachers of all levels, education staff, as well as stakeholders from public and private organisations and other relevant bodies. Registrations must be submitted by May 31.
