Two young men – aged 21 and 22 – received five-month prison sentences for football hooliganism.

Nicosia district court handed down the sentences on Monday, detailing that the cases emerged from incidents at an Apoel versus Apollon match on April 10 at GSP Stadium.

The two men were both found guilty on charges of possessing explosives (five months) and for possession of a dangerous weapon near a sports venue (another five months) but will serve their time concurrently.
